My Life In A Scene

This is my all-time favorite scene of any movie currently existing. Etta James, played by Beyonce, just got signed by Chess Records. She sings "All I Could Do Was Cry" then goes to play pool. Leonard Chess, co-founder of Chess Records goes and follows her.

In this scene, Etta tells Chess about her parents... mainly her dad who is white.

Etta: "My mother was a whore. And that fat motherfucker just looked me in the face, and he didn't see his self. He didn't see his little girl. You know what he saw? He saw the cum stains of all the other men my mother fucked! And these chanda-fucking-liers and these white table cloths don't mean shit! I AIN'T EVER GONNA BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIM! (picks up glass) You know they gon break this when I leave. FUCK IT, I'LL DO IT FOR YOU! (throws glass to the floor)

I really love this scene because I relate to it a lot. It is scientifically proven that we often draw to things we can relate to. Yes both of my parents are here for me and all that.. but when it comes to friends, I am always alone because I always feel like I'm not good enough. I'm either too gay, too quiet, too loud, too touchy feely, or they hear a lie from my past! They look at me and they don't see me... they don't see who I am, what I've become, or who I'm going to be. They see the stains from my past. Well that can't be removed. Take me as I am.. or have nothing at all.

Seems everyone chose the "have nothing at all"
